Pyramid Educational Advancement (PEA) Foundation’s overarching objective is inspire and facilitate a healthy reading culture amongst young people by setting-up libraries in underserved communities as well as public (primary and secondary) schools. We also mentor young people through our various programs such as the book reading club, periodic career and life skills seminars and also our volunteering scheme.
So far P.E.A. Foundation has set-up the Ojokoro community library and 2 public school libraries in Lagos state. Our library facilities are designed to be accessible to the general public for free because we want to reduce the barriers of reading and pursuing academic excellence to the barest minimal. Over 6,500 people have benefited from our activities directly while the whole Ojokoro Community and its environs (with a population of 300,000 people) has benefited from our activities indirectly.
It is noteworthy that P.E.A. Foundation’s book reading club model has been adopted by the Lagos state government and will be implemented in all the 13 public libraries across the state that is managed by the government. PEA Foundation is also discussing with several corporate organizations including a leading departmental chain store on the possibility of replicating our community based quiz competition across all their locations in Lagos and Ogun states.
P.E.A. Foundation has been recognized by the Lagos state governor and government, Channels Television Book Club, Ijaiye Ojokoro LCDA, State Universal Basic Education Board and La Roche Leadership Foundation for her outstanding contributions to education, youth and community development.
At P.E.A. Foundation, we believe in collaborating with individuals, corporate organizations and public agencies that are committed to using innovative strategies to create solutions that engender peaceful co-existence, economic productivity and purposeful leadership.
