Ojokoro Community Library

The OJOKORO COMMUNITY LIBRARY located in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Lagos State was established on the 20th February 2014 by PEA Foundation with the support of Association Des Espouse and Employee Energy Limited. The goal of setting up the library is to provide a conducive environment for people(especially students) to read and study as well as to also facilitate and give access to educational materials, resources and opportunities.

P.E.A Foundation’s decision to set up the library was further reinforced by the complains of some of the students who had gotten involved with and benefited from the Foundation's activities (e.g. quiz competition and career counseling) about the lack of libraries in their schools as well as the challenges of reading in their often overcrowded homes. Since the inception of the library, over 4000 books has been donated, 6000 unique visitors have used the library with an average of 74 users per day. The use of the library is FREE. Our goal is to set up more of such libraries in underserved communities across Lagos State and Nigeria.
